12 products that stand out from Expotrof 2019

In the 6th Expotrof 2019, which took place on 1-4 February at Elliniko, we saw the initiatives of the regions that have rented large kiosks for the producers of their area. There were also individual exhibitors – products from all over Greece. I met many friends and cooks, and I was glad to see them trying and being optimistic about the future. We present the 12, in our opinion, more interesting products of the exhibition.
Amari Dairy – Manoukarakis
The area of Rethymnon with gorges, mountain peaks and plains has a highly developed livestock breeding with 1000 shepherds, 70 dairies and animals that live free and grow up with indigenous and native species of flora. It is no coincidence that Crete, is a national champion in cheese industry and a world leader in cheese consumption. We tasted goat’s tirozouli -an excellent same-hard white cheese, full of flavor and just 16% fat is also ideal for light meals- grilled and we enjoyed its soft texture and elasticity even after a while, when residues respectively stalk.
